NoFloCo support
I’ve worked with NoFloCo Fire Mitigation Posse since 2023. It’s where I found my first community as a newcomer to Colorado. Moving to a new state can be overwhelming, but this group offered me a sense of belonging. It’s not just about cutting brush or moving logs; it’s about the education, the camaraderie, and the shared mission of protecting our environment and communities from the dangers of wildfires.
With NoFloCo, I learned the importance of safety protocols and a mindful approach to fire mitigation. Every project we take on is rooted in understanding the land, the weather patterns, and the best practices to ensure not just our safety but the health of the forests we work in. These skills are more than practical—they’re life-saving and an essential part of living in fire-prone regions.
What’s equally important is the sense of fulfillment that comes from volunteering. Being part of a team that shares my passion for environmental stewardship has been incredibly rewarding. Together, we create safer spaces for families, wildlife, and future generations.
I will continue volunteering with NoFloCo Fire Mitigation Posse. Beyond the work itself, I’ve found a deeper purpose and a way to contribute meaningfully to my new home. Volunteering isn’t just an activity; it’s a way to build connections, foster resilience, and make a lasting impact.

Come to their senses
It is unbelievable that Jason Mikesell (Teller County Sheriff) and the Teller County Board are not supporting NoFloCo!!! The hard work of the volunteers do in making us safe from fires in Colorado communities. If California had volunteers to help in their fire mitigation, the horrible fires would not have happened to so many! I will say prayers they come to their senses and start supporting NoFloCo!
